DIY: Triangle Wood Shelves

My obsession with triangles continues!

So we have a very large plain wall in our living room that our couch sits against.  I knew I wanted a large piece of art work to hang behind the couch to make it less bare.  One day while scrolling through Pinterest for hours I stumbled onto yet another great idea...

this blog popped up and it was time to start building.  I went to Lowes and bought some 1x3 white board.  I then took it down to a pawn shop and purchased a chop saw for $40 bucks.  I used the instructions from my inspiration blog, only changing up the measurements a bit. Once I got all the pieces cut to size I slapped some wood glue on the pieces and used a clamp to hold them in place.
The wood glue was taking way too long and I couldn't resist, I involved my dad and had him get the nail gun out and we got it nailed together in 5 minutes.

Stained the shelves and then added thrift store finds, we also got some decor pieces from TJMAXX

Paint goes a long way, Master bedroom remodel.

So Corey and I bought my childhood home from my parents at the end of December. And have just started doing some updates.  I have been so excited to start on the master bedroom.  I saw this post on Instagram and this became my main inspiration for the entire design of the room!

To start the walls in the master bedroom were cream so we (and by we I mean Corey and my sister) used paint we bought previously which was a high gloss white and painted the entire room.
after we painted the walls white, Corey used a laser level and measurements to create the design.
we adjusted the shapes and color coded what we wanted to color each shape.
We had pink, orange and gray paint, I wanted to keep the colors as similar to the inspo picture as possible so we added white to each color to lighten them up.

Finished results!

I am so in love with the end result.  We still have more things to take care of in the room like changing out the brass hardware on the doors and painting molding, and hopefully getting some more furniture for the room.
